FOR FAMILIES LIVING ABROAD

Private tutors for
life abroad.

Bespoke tuition and education planning for families living overseas. Explore school support, residential tutors, homeschooling enquiries and relocation.

Education built around where you live

Your family does not need to be visiting from the UK to enquire. We welcome parents based overseas year-round, families dividing time between countries and those preparing for a move. Begin with your child’s current studies and the education you want to make possible.

Dominic Oxnam leads the educational approach. We clarify the brief, explore suitable tutors through our tutor and partner network, and bring the proposed teaching, timetable and responsibilities together for your consideration.

Choose the starting point that fits your family

Attending school overseasIdentify subjects, examination boards and study habits that need support. Plan lessons around the school timetable.
Considering a broader home education programmeClarify the academic pathway, subject specialists, assessment and local requirements before planning delivery.
Moving between schools or countriesMap the transition between curricula and agree a programme for the gap, with a clear handover.
Dividing time between homesPlan the same learning priorities across locations, including travel days, resources and tutor availability.

Explore residential tutors at an overseas home or support during an international relocation.

Make the academic pathway clear

A year group alone does not define a programme. Share the curriculum, subjects, examination boards and expected next school or university stage. GCSE, IGCSE, A-level and IB enquiries need the relevant subject expertise; primary learning needs its own balance of core skills, confidence and discovery.

For a longer programme, agree how learning will be assessed, who receives updates and when progress is reviewed. Exam entry, examination centres and any school liaison should be confirmed explicitly as part of the scope. See our educational planning guidance.

Plan for your destination

These guides help you prepare a more useful brief for different settings. They are starting points for a tailored search.

  • Dubai and the UAE: international school support, curriculum transitions and life between the Gulf and other homes.
  • France and the French Riviera: holidays, seasonal residences and planning a longer stay.
  • Switzerland: school continuity, chalet stays and the importance of identifying the canton.

If your destination is elsewhere, include it in your enquiry. Availability and the practical requirements are considered for the proposed appointment.

Know who is responsible

Before you decide, the proposal identifies the tutor or delivery partner, teaching hours, programme coordination, progress updates and the contacts available during the arrangement. Tuition, tutor salary and additional travel or management costs are distinguished in the fee guidance.

Education outside school and a tutor’s ability to work in a country require their own checks. The relevant local requirements must be resolved before the programme begins.

Begin from your own time zone

A broad location, educational stage and likely start date are enough for an initial discussion. A parent, family office or authorised adviser can enquire. Include your city or time zone and preferred local contact time; we will confirm any appointment with you.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Your next questions.

Do we need to live in the UK to enquire?

No. We welcome enquiries from families living overseas year-round, as well as those travelling or relocating. Tell us the country, educational stage and type of support you need. Each proposed appointment is assessed for the family and location.

How do we arrange a conversation from another time zone?

Use the private conversation form to give your city or time zone and your preferred local contact time. We will confirm any appointment with you. Our telephone number is +44 20 7689 5155.

How are homeschooling requirements handled when we live abroad?

The educational programme must fit the rules that apply where the child lives or studies. These vary by country and sometimes by region. Confirm the requirements with the relevant authority before committing to education outside school; tutor sourcing alone does not establish permission.
